Alan Avedovech, B.S.
Alan, grew up in Park City, Utah and spent most of his childhood recreating in the mountains. In 2008 Alan moved to Salt Lake City to pursue a bachelors degree in Adventure and Outdoor Programming at the University of Utah. During his studies, Alan involved himself with the University of Utah's Outdoor Program and Mountain Education and Development. Alan quickly found himself leading countless outdoor trips down rivers, up rocky mountains, and through deserts and forests. Over the years, Alan has assisted MED in developing operating procedures and curriculum for technical courses, and has been a valuable member of the MED instructor team. Alan has accompanied MED to Kenya to co-instruct Wilderness Medicine and Mountain Safety courses to Kenya Wildlife Service Rangers and various locals throughout that region. This experience greatly contributed to Alan's love for travel and adventure. Alan has climbed many desert cliffs and descended many snowy chutes, but his biggest adventure to date has been his move to Thailand in fall of 2015. Alan currently lives in Chiang Mai, Thailand where he manages a rock climbing company called Chiang Mai Rock Climbing Adventures. It is there that he hopes to help create and establish an internationally recognized and sustainable standard for guiding indoor and outdoor climbing in Thailand.
