CLINIC DESCRIPTION

Ready to become a human wind chime? Ready to start equating all body parts with gear sizes? This clinic is for you. We will take your knowledge and experience with basic anchor setups and fine-tune it to address the skills needed to place bomber gear. Topics covered are building your trad rack, knots/hitches and their applications, assessment of rock quality, placement of both passive and active artificial gear, and creating anchors with a variety of materials and methods. 

INCLUDED

-Experienced AMGA Climbing Instructor
-Climbing harness (fully featured, padded & sized)
-Climbing helmet
-Rock climbing shoes
-Belay device & locking carabiner
-Additional personal climbing gear as needed (e.g. cord set, quick draws, traditional protection, etc.)
-Group climbing equipment (e.g. rope, anchor materials, etc.)
-Group emergency supplies (e.g. first aid kit)

NOT INCLUDED

-Transportation to/from meeting and/or field site
-Personal clothing items & approach footwear
-Backpack
-Food snacks and water

*Clinic will meet at a University of Utah parking lot near the Bonneville Shore Line Trail and then transfer to the climbing site.
