Community Climbing Series - Rock - Rappelling

CLINIC DESCRIPTION

Did you know that the most common accident in climbing occurs while on rappel? Descending a rope safely is an essential skill for every climber. This clinic will cover typical rappelling complications and their solutions. You will learn how to safely secure yourself to an anchor system, good communication between you and your partner, rappel extensions, techniques to create redundancy in your system and methods for tossing and stacking ropes. 

INCLUDED

-Experienced AMGA Climbing Instructor
-Climbing harness (fully featured, padded & sized)
-Climbing helmet
-Rock climbing shoes
-Belay device & locking carabiner
-Additional personal climbing gear as needed (e.g. cord set, quick draws, traditional protection, etc.)
-Group climbing equipment (e.g. rope, anchor materials, etc.)
-Group emergency supplies (e.g. first aid kit)

NOT INCLUDED

-Transportation to/from meeting and/or field site
-Personal clothing items & approach footwear
-Backpack
-Food snacks and water
