COMMUNITY CLIMBING SERIES

We have earned a reputation throughout the Wasatch as the leader in technical climbing education. We have offered similar experiences during a multitude of events including the annual Salt Lake Climbers Alliance Salt Lake Climbing Festival, the American Alpine Club Craggin' Classic and HERA Climb 4 Life. Courses listed have specific topics, however participants are encouraged to help determine the progression to best suit their needs. Our experienced instructors are prepared to adapt each clinic’s content based on the needs of each participant.

ICE CLIMBING OVERVIEW

Mountain Education and Development's Community Climbing Series takes to the ice! We offer a broad range of high quality clinics from introduction to ice climbing technique to mixed and  multi-pitch ice climbing in Utah's premier ice climbing destination, Provo Canyon.
 

 

 

Single Pitch: 

Price: $175 PEr person*

Each clinic is nine hours in length. You will receive high quality and focused instruction from one of our AMGA Certified instructors. We encourage you to form the clinic to what will benefit you the most as a climber. We can facilitate a range of clinics for varying levels of competency in Ice/Alpine climbing. We listed just a few possible options below: 

  • Intro to Ice Climbing.
  • Climbing Ice Efficiently.
  • Intro to Leading Ice.
  • Intro to Mixed Climbing.
  • Advanced Mixed Climbing.
  • Ice Climbing Self Rescue.

*Included with cost: Ice Tools, Crampons, Climbing Harness, Climbing Helmet, Technical Rigging Supplies. Mountaineering Boots are NOT Included with clinic cost.

Multi-Pitch:

PRICE: $175 PER PERSON*

The Multi-Pitch clinics are nine hours in length. You will receive high quality and focused instruction at a 2 to 1 ratio from one of our AMGA Certified instructors. For these clinics it is recommended for you to have some previous Ice Climbing experience, however feel free to register with no prior experience. You are still encouraged to input your preference on what you want to be taught. These clinics are designed with no set curriculum in order to provide greater benefit to participants. Here are a few possible topics:

  • Intro to Multi-Pitch Ice Climbing.
  • Multi-Pitch Transitions and Efficiency.
  • Advanced Multi-Pitch Ice Climbing.
  • Multi-Pitch Ice Climbing Self Rescue.
