Scott grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina and complete his B.S. in Applied Economics at East Carolina University. During his undergraduate career, Scott discovered mountains and fell in love with rock climbing. He worked at his university's Adventure Center, where he cultivated his skills as a trip leader in many outdoor activities including sea kayaking, backpacking, and whitewater rafting. After Scott graduated, he decided to move west to the bigger mountains. Salt Lake City, UT became his new home. Since moving here, he's worked extensively in many different areas of the outdoor industry. Currently, Scott works full-time with Petzl, and as a rock and ice climbing instructor at MED. Scott has a big passion for the vertical world in both the outdoor recreation and professional rope access disciplines. Scott is a talented education, and loves to share his passion for all things climbing with anyone who will listen. Beyond climbing, Scott enjoys hikes with his dog, playing chess, and ski touring.
