About Scott

Scott comes from a cattle ranch in Lehi, Utah and is no stranger to hard work. The mountains of Utah have a strong hold on Scott. Even though he has traveled the world pursuing peaks and waves, Salt Lake City is home. He graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Environmental Studies with a minor in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism. Scott studied Spanish in the Universidad de Costa Rica for a year and discovered a love and passion for Latin America. He has chosen a career in the mountains working for the U.S. Forest Service as Forester. When he isn't bushwhacking to research plots you can find him climbing in the Cottonwoods, backcountry split-boarding, or motorcycle touring around the canyons of the Rocky Mountains. Scott has been involved with MED since it's beginning and is a Senior Instructor. MED has taken him to Africa teaching subjects from wilderness medicine to mountain travel. He has been involved with the University of Utah climbing courses for both ice and rock. MED can always count on Scott to deliver when needed. Scott has a passion and love for wilderness and the pursuit of mountain summits. Mountains are an integral part of his life.
